As an incentive for insureds to insure to value, the following coverage extensions are provided if the policy is written at either 80% coinsurance or on a reporting basis:
NEWLY ACQUIRED OR CONSTRUCTED BUILDINGS
This extension applies only if buildings are covered on this policy. Coverage is extended to newly acquired buildings that are intended to be used for the same general purpose as the building(s) described on the declarations or as a warehouse. Coverage is also extended to any building being constructed on the described premises without regard of use.
The per building limit for this coverage extension is $250,000. Coverage lasts for not more than 30 days or until the policy expires, whichever comes first.
BUSINESS PERSONAL PROPERTY AT NEWLY ACQUIRED LOCATIONS
This extension applies only if business personal property is covered on this policy. The insured may extend coverage for business personal property that is located at any acquired location or at any newly constructed building. The personal property may be newly acquired or may have been moved from another location.
The per building limit for this coverage extension is $100,000. Coverage lasts for not more than 30 days or until the policy expires, whichever comes first.
PERSONAL EFFECTS AND PROPERTY OF OTHERS
This extension applies only if business personal property is covered on this policy The insured has the option to extend the coverage for its business personal property to apply to personal effects of the insured, officers of the insured's corporation, partners or employees. The causes of loss that are available to other business personal property apply except for theft. . Coverage can also be extended to personal property of others in the insured's care, custody or control. All causes of loss that are available to the business personal property apply The per location limit for this coverage extension is $2,500.
PROPERTY OFF PREMISES
Business personal property coverage may be extended to apply to personal property, other than stock, that is owned by the insured but is temporarily at a location that is not owned, leased or operated by the insured. This coverage extension applies only if the loss is caused by a covered peril. This extension does not apply to property while it is in or on a vehicle, at a fair or exhibition, or in the care, custody or control of salespersons. It is subject to a limit of $10,000.
VALUABLE PAPERS
The insured may extend the business personal property coverage to apply to the cost to research, replace or restore lost information on lost or damaged valuable papers and records. The limit for this coverage extension is $2,500, but higher limits are available.
OUTDOOR PROPERTY
The insured may extend coverage provided to apply to certain outdoor property, such as trees, shrubs and signs, against fire, lightning, explosion, riot, civil commotion and aircraft, subject to a maximum sublimit of $250 for each tree or shrub and $1,000 total.
NON-OWNED DETACHED TRAILERS
The insured may extend the coverage to apply to nonowned trailers that are on the insured's premises, are not attached to vehicles and for which the insured is legally liable. The limit for this coverage extension is $5,000, but higher limits are available.
BUSINESS PERSONAL PROPERTY TEMPORARILY IN PORTABLE STORAGE UNITS
This extension applies only if business personal property is covered on this policy. The insured may extend coverage for business personal property while it is being stored in a portable storage unit or a detached trailer. The storage unit/trailer must be on site only temporarily and the property can be stored in the unit for no more than 90 days. The limit for this coverage extension is $10,000, but higher limits are available.
