FLOOD INSURANCE

Dear [Name]:

Loss by flood is not covered under your Homeowners policy. It is that simple!

Most believe [or hope] that their Homeowners insurance policy will cover them in the event of a flood, but it won’t. For this reason, we are reviewing our clients’ files to make sure they are fully insured for flood.

Since your property is in a high-risk flood zone, coverage is available through a program offered by the federal government, the National Flood Insurance Program. As an independent agent, we are able to offer this program through [company] who administers the program on behalf of the government. As their representative, [Agency] is licensed to sell the coverage to you.

I've enclosed a brochure that provides some facts about the risks of flooding and gives you an overview of the flood protection [company] delivers. The brochure includes a postage paid reply card you can mail to let me know you are interested in finding out how much the policy will cost.

Remember that your Homeowners policy does not provide this coverage. If a flood occurs, you will not be covered for damage or losses. Please think seriously about purchasing this important policy.

Sincerely,
