AAIS COMMERCIAL LIABILITY COVERAGE FORM DECLARATIONS

(September 2025)

INTRODUCTION

Each insurance company develops or customizes its own version of the Commercial Liability Coverage Declarations. The American Association of Insurance Services (AAIS) has created an advisory Commercial Liability Coverage Declarations document designed for use with the GL-200–Commercial Liability Coverage Form. Many insurance companies use this document as a template to craft their own declarations.

The AAIS advisory declarations form includes nine sections.

Section 1- Insurance Company and Producer Information

Section 2–Named Insured and Policy Number

Section 3–Mailing Address, Policy Period and Business Description

NOTE: It is important to keep the insured's mailing address up to date with the insurance carrier. This address is used for sending policy details and cancellation notices.

Example: Timothy Kilns has locations in New York, Colorado, and California, with its mailing address located in California. The insurance policy's inception and expiration times are set for 12:01 AM California time. If a loss occurs at the New York location at 1:00 AM Eastern Standard Time (EST), the previous policy will cover the loss. This is because the new policy does not take effect until 12:01 AM California time, which is equivalent to 3:01 AM in New York.

Section 4–Type of Business and Location of Insured Premises

NOTE: If more than one named insured is shown in Section 2, more than one of these business entities may apply and be checked.

Limited Liability Companies are not automatically included under the GL-200 policy. It is essential to add endorsement GL-914 - Limited Liability Company when any insured party is a Limited Liability Company.

If there is not enough space to list every location, additional locations may be listed on a separate endorsement.

NOTE: Locations not listed may or may not be covered. If the information was intentionally withheld from the insurance company, coverage may be denied due to the Misrepresentation Condition. However, if the location was not listed due to a clerical error, coverage may still apply.

Section 5–Limits of Liability

The limits are shown in the spaces provided:

A space is provided to indicate that no coverage is needed for Products/Completed Work. If a check is placed in this space, the Each Occurrence Limit will not apply to this excluded coverage, and there will be no limit in the Aggregate Limit for Products/Completed Work.

When Non-Owned Auto Liability and Hired Auto Liability Coverage are included, spaces are provided to display the additional charges.

Section 6–Classifications

This section contains the rating details of the declaration. The required entries are as follows:

Section 7–Endorsements

Endorsements attached as of the policy inception date are listed in the designated area, organized by form number and title.

Section 8–Countersignature and Countersignature Date

Section 9–Company Officers’ Signatures Section

This section provides space for the actual or facsimile signatures of the officers of the insurance company issuing coverage.
